IFA Illustration and Survey Special Interest Group (ISSIG) -Survey of the profession

Since its formation in May of 2008 the ISSIG has received a large number of suggestions on what its priorities should be. In order to establish a plan of action we need to understand the employment situation and circumstances that members are working in at the present time. Previous surveys by both IFA and AAI&S give us some idea of pay and conditions but do not cover many aspects of the work which affect those involved in these specialist areas.

This survey is of necessity detailed and covers a large range of employment situations and conditions. It is important that we have a good response to the survey so I would urge anyone involved in visualising archaeological data to take their time to fill in the survey and contribute to the discussion and future development of the profession.
